[solved] Low Memory Warning? Empty

Hi Jojo,
yes this is a problem for alot of people when using programs like video players as they use alot of ram,
also online gaming and facebook uses alot as well,

theres a vurtual memory or pagefile, this is like an add-on to your ram where lets call is "used ram" goes
you can adjust pagefile to stop the warning bubbles, you shoiudnt need to add more ram to an XP system, but Vista uses most of 1gig to itself, so maybe a good idea to add another 1gig to it if on vista,
here is XP & Vista how-to's

Windows XP:
Vurtual Memory or Pagefile is different to RAM, if this is set too low, you will get "out of memory" warning bubbles popping up, to change this to a correct setting,
make a note of your RAM,
1. goto Control Panel
2. in the Performance & Maintainance catagory
3. click Systems icon
4. click Advanced tab
5. in Performance section
6. click settings button
7. click Advanced tab
8. in Vurtual Memory section
9. click Change button
10. click Custom (to add your values)
11. set Maximum and Minimum amounts of MB in the small boxed
12. click OK when done & reboot

Note: the best minimum size should be equal to your RAM, the maximum size should be 3 times the RAM

Windows Vista:
If you receive warnings that your virtual memory is low, you'll need to increase the minimum size of your paging file.
Windows sets the initial minimum size of the paging file at the amount of random access memory (RAM) installed on your computer plus 300 megabytes (MB), and the maximum size at 3 times the amount of RAM installed on your computer.
If you see warnings at these recommended levels, then increase the minimum and maximum sizes.
1. Open System by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking System.
2. In the left pane, click Advanced system settings. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
4. Click the Advanced tab, and then, under Virtual memory, click Change.
5. Clear the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives check box.
6. Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file you want to change.
7. Click Custom size, type a new size in megabytes in the Initial size (MB) or Maximum size (MB) box, click Set, and then click OK.
8. Reboot

Note: the best minimum size should be equal to your RAM, the maximum size should be 3 times the RAM
