| Eurofighter Typhoon F.2 And I know this image is a P.O.S., but just to show you how much power they have, I couldn't keep up with it! Oh, and, yes, I know it's actually a T.1 if you want to go that far :D | |

| Vapor condensation :D
Not an indication of speed, but of humidity

"interesting condensation clouds that form around jets as they fly at or near the speed of sound, (often called "going through the sound barrier" or "accelerating past the speed of sound"). Under the right conditions, and even at lower speeds, they sometimes cause a vapor cone effect.!
Not always an indication of Mach 1+

| I work on military aircraft...I know what I am talking about. That cloud that forms around the jet is the sound barrier, the vapor condensation you are talking about is when you see 2 white streaks and cloud that form off the ends of the wings when a jet does a pull. Those white streaks and cloud are the air molecules melting off the end of the wings and jet. Say you were in an F-15 and pulled 2-7+ G's.....you would see the air flowing over the wings begin to show and melt because the air is traveling soo fast and the strength of the pull the aircraft is doing. Examples. A complete circle around the jet is the plane passing the sound barrier. The cloud effect over the backside of the jet is air melting causing a cloud that way. | |

| That's a good website Chris :geek: I found a few of my old favourite planes. This is one The Vulcan B2. :geek: They retired one of them to Coventry Air museum not far from where I used to live. My other favourites are The Red Arrows, Hawks. The Spitfire, Huricaine and Lancaster. Not bad for a girl aye. | |

| The Red Arrows are the best, I agree with Max. When my son was young I designed and hand knitted him a jumper with the Red Arrows on the front. It was dead good if I do say so myself. | |
