had chaos with the cable people, i have an intermitent fault,
they said its a damaged cable, the 1 leading from house to box 80yrds up street,
so engineer was booked for Sat 16th, 1pm-6pm,
he turns up 8:30am and went again,
at 9:30am the cable layers (street only crew) turned up & laid the cable under the path/road,
i phoned cable co. & was told engineer will still be out 1pm-6pm to fit cable as the crew laid it, they dont fit them to houses,
nobody showed up, so i called them again, (got the India call centre) and was told the job is complete,
well i said "no it isnt, im here looking at a new but disconnected cable in my front garden, you're not here, so dont tell me its connected when i can see it isnt,
i have to call a human in england on monday, because the others wont help, to them the job is complete.

Oh Max that's ridiculous isn't it.
Hope you get it sorted on Monday.

I'm sick and fed up with these call center
places and those where you can't get to
speak to a real person.

awww thanks Chatsy, i needed that,
and i will get it sorted, spoke to them today, pointing out the cable was laying in the garden, and the lady in the flat next to mine is only 94yrs old,
and i was worried she would fall over on it when going round to the waste bin,
she has had a new hip already and is frail,
he agreed its a health risk and we have to do something.

they sent someone back and they fixed it,

yes im taking 1 day off a week as i work all weekend,
that 1 day is spent with my girlfriend to relieve my stress level

hi all, the day started great,
the film wasn't at cinema was taken off after 1 week,
then we had a lovers tiff,
had fun making up after,
then on way home, she got mugged,
a teenager on a pushbike come from behind on the path & almost knocked her over as he yanked her bag off her shoulder,
as he on bike and me on foot, i couldn't catch him to get bag back, and cause him pain,
then to cap it off, half way through talking to bank to cancel cards, her mobile ran out of credit,
her top-up card was in her bag & it was 11pm, so phone shop wasn't open,
we did sort bank out though,
off to work now, yes i know its Sunday, but some of us have to,

Oh Max - how dreadful - I do hope your girlfriend is OK.
What about her house keys Max has she lost those too ?
Did she have anything in her bag with her address in/on it ?

her keys had gone too, so next day her brother changed her locks,
and other things are sorted now,
police said they cant do anything, or are too busy.

I'm pleased no real harm was done...you hear of these things really turning for the worst these days the fools are so desperate!

i just hope nothing irreplaceable went with it

thanks mate, her sholder aches where he yanked her bag but no other harm done,
good job she didnt tumble, she has a bad knee,
apart from a diary/journal, there wasnt alot that isnt replaceable,
luck had it that she left her camera at home with all her pic's on,
well that about wraps it up,

Police called my girlfriend yesterday,
they said "there's nothing on CCTV showing the thief and as the bank cards was stopped, they cant trace it down to a cash point if he has not used them"
so its a blind alley.

Hi all, i know i haven't been here in a while,
blame work, as they started a new shift rota and changed it every time someone left,
well as we started with 30 people in our section, we are down to 18 people,
so that is alot of changing,

also, we found out, as they news stated before Christmas that the frim are losing 10,000 employees,
they said, not to worry, its mainly agency/contractors that are going,
and yes we are, our branch is closing between now and July, they expect the depot to be empty by June,

oh well, thats all from me at the moment,

Well it seems the closure is sooner rather than later,
I got an email today that told me this Saturday 28th Feb is my last day,
as today is Monday 23rd Feb, that is just a weeks notice,
oh well, off to the jobcentre I go....

Hi Mr Darn,
nice to see you mate,
and yes its looking better, i start a new job on a 6 month contract in another call centre,
that begins tomorow, Monday 30th March, 1 month after i got laid off,
will see how it goes, but its a little less money than BT, and longer travelling times, because i have to use 2 busses,
so i have extra cost of that, aprox £50 a week in bus fares to and from work, but i can still look for something permanent, if any permanent jobs still exist.

Theres a thing up my way where i can buy a weekly ticket for £22, that lets me travel anywhere in the north-east on arriva busses. is there nothing like that down your way?

We do have 2 or 3 local firms that do bus services in the counties,
as i live in 1 county & work in another, that's 2 bus passes as the buses are run independently, sort of privatised services,

i am sorting out the best value here, they do a deal where you buy 10 singles tickets in 1 strip on 1 bus and you get 3 singles free on the same strip,
i do that on both buses that i need & it works out cheaper.

Hi All,

well here we are again, it's a few months down the line in my job,
now they want to transfer 1/2 of it to the off-shore call centre in India,
this means 1/2 of us are leaving at the end of July 09,
they will be working on the other 1/2 of the work to move that to India too,
laying off the remainder of the staff they took on in march as soon as they can, probably before Christmas,
the good news is, i wont be out around 12-13hrs a day n spending £50 a week on fares,
the bad news is, there's almost no work in my town, so looking to travel again to find work.

Have yourself a little "accident", that way they will have to pay you sick pay till you get better (or find something else)

It's not that easy, agency's dont pay sick pay, they only pay you per hour that you actually work,
nice idea though and i have seen some people go too far, like one man was paralysed and in a wheelchair as he couldn't walk, yet there was evidence of him walking around in his home & running about playing football in the garden with his children,
he was prosecuted for fraud of benifit.

did my last day at work, no they didnt let me go early, i had to go in early n make up an hour if i wanted to go an hour early, so i did,
will miss the people, wont miss the work place or the customers that yell at you.

as you may have seen, i added some stuff on the new Windows 7 operating system, its based on vista, but they boast its smoother & faster,

anyway, we dont have much to go on as not alot of people are using it yet,

yes ive been busy in the winmx section too, as im not working at the moment, why not,

also created a website for the forum, hoping people stumble apon it when googling and like what we have,
whant to have a peep?
